Karklin turns in string of impressive performances

6/16/22

Throttle Works – MIDDLEBURG, PA (June 16, 2022) – Jake Karklin continues hot streak with five top fives in the last five races. Karklin is new to the Central Pennsylvania racing scene but continues to be impressive.

“We have the car rolling pretty good and feeling comfortable. Looking forward to getting back in the car again” Karklin is currently sitting 4th in United Racing Club Points (just five points behind 3rd place) He sits 4th in the Patriot Sprint Tour Points, (just three points behind 3rd).  Also is 4th in points in the Selinsgrove Speedway 360 Point Standings.

Jake Karklin is not only the driver, but also owner of all his own equipment. Karklin “Working out of town through the week and trying to race every weekend is definitely a challenge but these good finishes lately are making it feel worth it.”

May 21st Karklin Racing made its first trip to Winchester Speedway in Virginia. They split the feature into twin 15 features. Two shots to get the 5K into victory lane. Finishing 4th in his heat race would start him 4th in the first 15 lap feature. “It was a Tricky slick that we struggled to get a hold of” states Karklin but his results prove different. Karklin was able to drive the slick track to finish 4th in first feature, and 2nd in the second feature. June 4th, Kramer Cup at his home track- Selinsgrove Speedway. Off to a good start, Karklin was 9th fastest overall in hot laps. With a high pill draw- he would start 6th in Heat 3. Karklin advancing one spot, finishing 5th. This would start him 15th on the inside row for the 25 Lap feature. Karklin was elbows up and drove 15th to 5th! Karklin was able to use the entire track to make it happen. Running up top inches from the wall, to the lowest of low on the bottom.

“it got pretty wide, and the top was tricky but if you hit it right it was fast.”

“ It felt like a win for us, coming from 15th to 5th our 2nd time at the track gave us some confidence and looking to get back here next week for the Joe Whitcomb memorial.” Watch Karklin drive the feature on Karklin Racing YouTube Channel - https://youtu.be/CMZjc101PnY

Double header weekend- July 10th and 11th Friday at Delaware with the United Racing Club, and Saturday with Patriot Sprint Tour for the Joe Whitcomb Memorial. At Delaware Karklin picked up his first heat race win of the season which put him into the redraw. After pulling a 6- Karklin then started the 25-lap feature event 6th on the outside, finishing the night with a 3rd place finish! The team then made the haul back home to prepare for the following night at Selinsgrove.

Karklin excited to get back to Selinsgrove after the impressive run at the Kramer Cup. Jake started 5th in his heat race and drove up to 3rd which would start him 7th in the 25 Lap Feature event. Karklin wasted no time to drive the 5K to the front. Karklin was running 2nd place by a stretch up until 2 laps to go. Karklin got a hole in his right rear which made the car hard to handle up top. He was able to keep the car under control and held on to finish 4th! “man 2nd would’ve been cool, but knew something was going on with the Right rear tire as the car kept rolling over, when I came in we noticed right away that there was a hole in the right rear and only 2 ½ pounds of air left, I’m just glad we could hold on to finish 4th”

Karklin Racing team is actively searching for sponsorship and Jake would love to chat with any business who would be interested in coming on board. We still have spots open on the car for the 2022 Season. Contact Jake via Facebook or phone 704-975-9556.
